Frequently Asked Questions

What types of media do you digitize?

Feel free to bring us anything that you need digitized and we will ensure all your memories are preserved according to industry best practices. In-house we convert VHS, camcorder tapes (all types), DVDs, mini DVDs, and cassette tapes. We also scan pictures and journals. All other Utah-based media digitization is outsourced to Larsen Digital. Projects we receive from families living in most other states will be referred to one of our other trusted partners within the professional network of The Photo Managers. Anything we outsource will be hand-delivered; we don’t mail memories.

How much do you charge?

A typical video transfer project, with no video editing, costs between $300 and $500. Video projects that include segmentation and organization usually are between $900 and $1,500. Listed below are the costs for each of our services:

  • DVD Transfer – $5 per DVD. The process to pull footage off of DVDs doesn’t take as long as it does for VHS or camcorder tapes, that’s why it’s less expensive. Note – if a disc is scratched and we’re unable to access the files, we can try fixing the scratches for an additional $5; we can’t guarantee that an attempted fix will result in a successful video transfer.
  • VHS/Camcorder Tape Transfer – $15 per Tape. If we come across a whole tape that only has recorded TV shows or movies on it that you don’t care to keep, we won’t charge you for it. Note – if a tape is moldy or broken, we will need to repair it before digitizing. A repair costs an additional $15; removing mold is $25.
  • Segment & Organize DVDs/Camcorder Tape Footage – $35 each. DVDs and camcorder tapes typically have under 2 hours of footage on them.
Where are you located?

Our headquarters are 160 N Main Street Suite B1, Logan, Utah.

Do you pickup projects from other cities?

Yes! We travel all around northern Utah and southern Idaho to meet with clients. Let us know if you live outside of Logan and would like us to come pick up your family’s memories.

What are your hours?

Our office doesn’t have set hours. You are welcome to leave projects in our self-service smart drop-box when our office building is open (weekdays from 9-5). To meet with us in-person, please reach out to schedule an appointment.

How are you different from other preservation companies?

We make your home videos easy to watch, just like you would watch regular movies on the popular streaming platforms. We don’t digitize your videos just to have them sit on DVDs or figurately collect dust on your devices. Memory preservation is important but it doesn’t benefit anyone if they aren’t used. Work with us to get your videos transferred, segmented, and organized, so that you can conveniently stream and share them from anywhere!
